Sophia Antipolis, France, 13 November 2018 - Insight SiP, the specialist in ultra-miniature RF modules, is launching the ISP1807-LR module, which it believes to be the first fully Bluetooth 5.0 Long Range compliant RF module in a miniature SIP package. It measures only 8x8x1 mm, making it the smallest of its type available.

 

This miniature BLE module is based on the nRF52840 chip from Nordic Semiconductor and represents the latest in Bluetooth 5 Long Range module technology. It offers a Bluetooth 5 stack including long range, high throughput, advertising extensions and improved coexistence along with IPv6 connectivity and Mesh capabilities. With these characteristics, the ISP1807-LR module is well-equipped to form the hub of IoT solutions.

The ISP1807-LR module is the ideal choice for IoT solutions requiring complex applications, fast processing and/or best in class power consumption. These include advanced wearables, smart home and industrial sensors, advanced remote controls, gaming controllers and beacons.

The BLE part of the ISP1807-LR integrates the nRF52840 chip from Nordic Semiconductor and employs the proven design of Insight SiP’s existing BLE product range. Like all of Insight’s products, it is a fully featured BLE device with integrated 32 MHz / 32 Khz crystals, RF antenna and matching circuit and DC-DC convertor, thus having maximum power saving efficiency.

With an M4 floating point processor, the ISP1807-LR Bluetooth Smart Module can run fast and advanced calculations and support sophisticated applications with its huge memory capacity (1 MB Flash and 256 kB RAM). The embedded ARM Cryptocell-310 on-chip processor provides security and cryptographic functions, saves CPU processing time and reduces energy consumption. A USB interface is also available, meaning this device offers a unique range of capabilities.

The Nordic Semiconductor chip’s BT5 Long Range feature is perfectly complemented by Insight SIP’s proven advanced “Antenna in Package” technology, which allows customers to get the most out of the long-range capability. Bluetooth long range offers up to 4x the range of a standard BLE solution, enabling a new whole new set of use cases for BLE technology, in domains such as smart buildings, lighting, agriculture, infrastructure management and many others.

The ISP1807-LR supports protocols including BLE, THREAD, ANT/ANT+ and a range of proprietary 2.4 GHz protocols. An NFC Tag is available for OOB pairing. Free qualified BLE stacks for nRF52840 are implemented in the S140 SoftDevices and enable ISP1807-LR to be used in Central, Peripheral, Observer or Broadcaster with up to 20 connections. A full set of interfaces is integrated into the device for analog or digital peripherals including a configurable 46 GPIOS with 8 ADC and USB, SPI, I2C and UART buses. Thanks to pin to pin compatibility with the ISP1507, it also provides an easy upgrade to already designed applications.

To support product developers, Insight SIP offers a complete development kit together with sample software that provides everything required out of the box to start developing a solution on day one.

Insight SiP lance le nouveau module ISP1807-LR

Le premier module entièrement compatible Bluetooth 5.0 Long Range et le plus petit du marché

Sophia Antipolis, France, 13 novembre 2018 - Insight SiP, le spécialiste des modules RF ultra-miniatures, lance le module ISP1807-LR, premier module RF entièrement compatible Bluetooth 5.0 Long Range dans un boîtier SIP miniature. Il ne mesure que 8x8x1 mm, ce qui en fait le plus petit du genre.

 

Ce module BLE miniature intègre la puce nRF52840 de Nordic Semiconductor qui correspond à la dernière technologie de module Bluetooth 5 Long Range. Il offre ainsi la longue portée, le haut débit, l’amélioration de l’advertising ainsi que la coexistance entre l’adresse IPv6 et le réseau Mesh. Avec ces caractéristiques, le module ISP1807-LR est parfait pour constituer un hub de solutions IoT.

Le module ISP1807-LR est le choix idéal pour les applications IoT nécessitant des designs complexes, un traitement rapide et / ou une faible consommation d'énergie. La fonctionnalité BT5 longue portée de la puce Nordic Semiconductor s’allie parfaitement à la technologie « Antenna in Package» d’Insight SIP, permettant de bénéficier de façon optimale de la performance longue portée. En effet, le Bluetooth Long Range offre une portée jusqu'à 4 fois supérieure à une solution BLE standard, déployant l’utilisation de la technologie BLE dans des domaines tels que les bâtiments intelligents (Smart Building), l'éclairage, l'agriculture, la gestion des infrastructures et bien d'autres.

L'ISP1807-LR est compatible avec les protocoles BLE, THREAD, ANT / ANT + et une gamme de protocoles propriétaires à 2,4 GHz. Un tag NFC est disponible pour l’appairage du Bluetooth. La stack BLE certifiée pour le chip nRF52840 et intégrée dans le SoftDevice S140 permet l’utilisation de ISP1807-LR en mode Central, Peripheral, Observer ou Broadcaster, et cela jusqu’à 20 connexions simultanées. Un ensemble complet d'interfaces est disponible pour les périphériques analogiques ou numériques, notamment 46 GPIOs configurables dont 8 ADC et de multiples ports USB, SPI, I2C et UART. Pin à pin interchangeable avec la gamme ISP1507, il offre une compatibilité avec des applications déjà conçues.

Mit Abmessungen von nur 8x8x1 mm ist es momentan das kleinste verfügbare Konzept seiner Art.

Das Miniatur-BLE Modul basiert auf dem nRF52840 Chipsatz von Nordic Semiconductor und repräsentiert die aktuellste Bluetooth 5 Long Range Modultechnologie. Es bietet Bluetooth 5 Stack inklusive Long Range-, High Throughput-, Advertising-Erweiterungen und verbesserte Koexistenz-Eigenschaften an. Mit dem M4 Gleitkommaprozessor kann das ISP1807-LR Bluetooth Smart Modul komplexe Berechnungen schnell durchführen und anspruchsvolle Anwendungen mit seiner großen Speicherkapazität von 1MB Flash/256kB RAM unterstützen. Der integrierte ARM Cryptocell-310 on-chip Prozessor liefert Sicherheits- und kryptografische Funktionen und trägt zu der Reduzierung der CPU-Verarbeitungszeit sowie der Stromaufnahme bei. Die verfügbare USB Schnittstelle bietet eine einzigartige Reihe von zusätzlichen Möglichkeiten an. 

Der BT5 Long Range Chip von Nordic wird perfekt durch die erprobte “Antenna in Package” SIP Technologie von Insight SIP ergänzt. Dadurch kann der Anwender die maximalen Vorteile der Long-Range-Kommunikationsreichweite nutzen. Bluetooth Long Range bietet bis zu 4x die Reichweite von Standard BLE Lösungen an. Das ISP1807-LR unterstützt BLE, THREAD, AT/ANT+ sowie eine Reihe von proprietären 2.4 GHz Protokollen. Frei qualifizierte BLE Stacks für nRF52840 sind in den S140 SofDevices integriert und ermöglichen den Einsatz von ISP1807-LR als Central, Peripheral, Observer oder Broadcaster Node mit bis zu 20 Verbindungen. Das Gerät integriert einen kompletten Satz von Schnittstellen für analoge oder digitale Peripherien. Dazu gehören 46 GPIOs mit 8 ADC und USB, SPI, I2C und UART Datenleitungen. Aufgrund der pin-to-pin Kompatibilität mit dem ISP1507 Modul ist das Upgrade von bereits entwickelten Applikation leicht.
